As the landscape of technology evolves at a breakneck pace, with many hyped technologies such as Generative AI, Cloud to the Edge for IoT devices, Digital Twins and Quantum Computing grabbing headlines, architects and tech leaders must distinguish between fleeting trends and game-changing innovations. In this focused BIL-T session, we delve into the world’s most hyped technologies, providing concrete examples of where the noise is loudest. We’ll equip you with practical strategies and tools to cut through this hype, ensuring you have a future-proof architecture that is both innovative and grounded in real-world applicability.

It’s a perennial curse for architecture practitioners; the constant requests to explain what we do, and how we add value. So few disciplines or professions are asked these questions so regularly. So what has caused this situation, and what can be done to improve it? One way is to establish an agreed set of metrics that can be used to show how the use of architecture affects business outcomes in a positive way. What are these metrics, you ask? Come along to this BIL-T event and hear from practitioners that have had real impact on their organizations. Discover the types of benefits they were able to realize, and perhaps you might finally be able to help your team answer these questions.
We look forward to a broad range of presentations and panel discussions that highlight the impact and value of architecture today as well as thought leadership about business, technology, and architecture for the future. This is an event not to miss!

The CAF is taking over the well-adopted BIL-T conference in partnership with our newly forming WIA (Women in Architecture) initiative this November. Iasa runs the Business, Innovation, Leadership, and Technology conference three times a year. We generally get around 1500 registrations. The entire basis for BIL-T is to bring the world’s thought leaders together and drive a freely available body of knowledge and techniques which is a great fit for CAF!. With the success of the Chief Architect Forum, and the growing success of Women in Architecture, the leadership we are collaborating together as Chief Architect Forum BIL-T called the Voice of the CAF.

BUSINESS ARCHITECTURE: TODAY AND TOMORROW
Business Architecture has been gaining new traction and relevance as a strategic enabler, helping organizations embark on delivering new strategies and transformations, while also building for effectiveness, agility, resiliency, transparency, risk management, and more. This creates new opportunities for architecture to play any even more significant role at the forefront of change, guiding organizations into a digital yet ethical and sustainable future.
As part of the BIL-T Conference Series, this event aims to showcase the discipline of Business Architecture to a broader audience, demonstrating its unique value and outcomes in a wide variety of business scenarios. It will also facilitate conversations on how business and technology architects can work together as co-creators, as part of a cohesive profession. Join us to see Business Architecture in action firsthand, and explore the art of the possible.

The theme for our 11th March event was Radical Innovation. Radical innovation has always been exciting, but is perhaps moving into the realm of necessary – for organizations and industries to compete and be resilient, for cities and governments to support citizens in a rapidly evolving digital world, and for all of us to address our global, pressing challenges. This conference explored radical innovation across a variety of facets: products and services, business models, technologies, organizational design, industries, governments, cities and more. While we want to think radically and vision our future together, we also want to act practically, so case studies and actionable approaches for making radical innovation a reality were emphasized.
The theme for our 8th July event was Artificial Intelligence. We explored the possibilities and challenges of artificial intelligence (AI) from multiple facets: business, government, technology, people, governance and ethics, society, and wellbeing. This event took a practical look at AI today, through case studies that showcase how organizations are using artificial intelligence to build business value now.
The theme for our 11th of November event is The Architecture of Tomorrow. We have many hints at what the future will look like, but what will it mean with smartphones, IoT sensors and 5G everywhere? Can we truly exploit all of the data and technologies we are developing today?
This conference will fast forward to envision what the future might hold for organizations and individuals, across different industries and technologies. We will then explore what it means to the workforce and the Architects of Tomorrow, as organizations look to these professionals to turn their visions into reality.

The April Web Summit topic was Modern EA with a focus on Resilience and Business Continuity.
The theme for our 30 July 24-hour event was Digital Business: Designing the Future. With the backdrop of the accelerating digital transformation of our world, and as a result of the pandemic, a new ability to question our assumptions, we have an opportunity to step back and reimagine a better future. The intent is to bring together futurists, thought leaders, and architects to explore a vision for how organizations should look and behave in our rapidly changing world.
The theme for our 19th November 24-hour event was Architecting for Global Good: The Role of Business and Technology. A confluence of events, drivers, trends and shifting perspectives point to new ways of leveraging business and technology for the global good. The coexistence of profit and purpose is proving to be a reality, climate action plans and sustainability concerns have moved up on the business agenda, and with continued shifts from shareholder focus to stakeholder focus, the very purpose of business is being revisited. But make no mistake, these efforts are not all about doing good for the sake of doing good – they have real business benefits. This includes new market opportunities, greater long-run shareholder profits, more customers and increased loyalty, supply chain reliability, better employee retention and attraction, public goodwill, and business longevity to name just a few.
